Welcoming Dahlia, a new postdoctoral fellow with the MegaMove project!
Dahlia on Campbell Island

We are excited to welcome Dr Dahlia Foo as a new postdoctoral researcher to the Sequeira Lab at the Australian National University. Dahlia brings a unique mix of skills in marine science and software development, and will contribute to a range of SequeiraLab projects, including the MegaMove project.

She earned her PhD in Biological Sciences with the Marine Predator Lab at the University of Tasmania where she tracked long-nosed fur seals from Kangaroo Island and studied how mums changed their foraging behaviour over time. Dahlia has also done conservation work on endangered New Zealand sea lions on sub-Antarctic Campbell Island. After her PhD in 2020, she wanted to build apps for fun and learned Frontend programming. Spurred by her passion for Brazilian jiu-jitsu, she developed an AI jiu-jitsu chatbot.

With her experience in marine predator research and her skills in movement data analysis and software development, Dahlia is a valuable addition to our team.

We look forward to working with Dahlia on the fantastic projects we have at the Sequeira Lab!
